and skin grafting There have been a number of clinical
trials covering a range of patients and wounds using Kerraboot since it was devised
initially in 1999/2000, and more are planned. In clinical studies Kerraboot
has been shown to be comfortable, easy, quick and pain-free to change and thereby
reduces the patients dependency on nurses to dress and redress the wound.
Nearly all patients in clinical trials rated Kerraboot better than existing dressings.
Several investigations have demonstrated the clinical advantages of Kerraboot
in managing lower limb ulcers, in many cases preventing the need for amputation.
Further, case reports have demonstrated the importance of Kerraboot in preparing
patients for skin grafting and in facilitating wound healing following surgical
debridement. Ashton J. Managing leg and foot ulcers: the role of Kerraboot.

Provides a comprehensive overview of the management of lower limb ulcers
and reviews the clinical evidence for the use of Kerraboot in these patients.
